7-12 Reopening

The School Board unanimously approved a proposed 7-12 Reopening Plan as presented by the District. Once language is finalized, we will have our members vote on ratification as well.

TK-6 Expansion Plan

The School Board also discussed what TK-6 expansion of in-person instruction might look like. The Board was very supportive of a 4-day in-person instruction week, with Wednesdays as Distance Learning days. The changes come as a result of changed guidelines from County Public Health, which would allow the District to collapse small cohorts and group them together. The current tentative agreements we have with the District are as follows:

Starting Monday, February 22, MCS teachers and staff who are ages 50 and older will be eligible to go to any Stanislaus County clinic for vaccination.

  • MCS is still planning on operating a closed point-of-dispensing (POD) vaccine clinic for our staff (ages 50+ at this point) in the near future in the Downey High gym. Our vaccine plan is complete; however, we are awaiting the green light from County Public Health before we can proceed and order vaccines. When that happens, we will send you the online registration link to schedule your appointment.

  • IMPORTANT: If you choose to get a vaccine from one of the County clinics before the MCS Closed POD is scheduled, you will be required to finish the process with the County.
