Tentative Agreement

A tentative agreement has been reached with MCS! The following are highlights:

Agreement

  • We made a two-year deal for 2020-21 and 2021-22

  • Our next cycle will have limited reopeners, including Salary and Health & Welfare

Salary

  • An ongoing 4.5% salary increase for the 2021-22 school year and a 0% increase for the 2020-21 school year ~ this was the best way to take advantage of the state's "mega cola" for 2021-22 and avoid concerns around the 0% cola for the 2020-21 school year

  • An ongoing TK-6 Combo Class stipend in the amount of the flat-rate duty 8th period optional, which is $8,910, retroactive to August 2021

  • Ongoing TK-6 class overages worth $15 per student per day above class size maximums after the first 15 instructional days

Health & Welfare

  • An increase in Health & Welfare contributions from $583 to up to$700/month starting January 2022

Leaves

  • New language allowing those in job shares to progress along the salary schedule depending on their percentage of employment

  • 10 additional days of paid COVID leave for vaccinated employees if they are forced to quarantine after testing COVID+

  • New provision allowing limited donation of sick leave to other certificated employees

Reassignment

  • Protected our current contract language on reassignments and updated deadlines for TK-6 reassignment

  • Updated language on Psychology, Speech and Language Pathology, and Nurse Reassignments

  • Gave our 7-12 members more opportunities to earn optional by increasing the number allowed in each department

Additional Programs

  • Updated language for the MVA program as required by state law

  • Added language allowing for increased short term independent study payments during winter break
